Infinite Initiative

A deckbuilding roguelike in your browser where you queue a full turn of cards, commit them as one sequence and watch the combo counter climb, across nine classes with a sardonic Game Master narrating every run. There's nothing to download or install, so roll for initiative.

Cc:

A first-person office sim about stealing time. The clock runs at whatever speed you earn: slack off and the day accelerates, do the work and it crawls. A patrolling boss staples another thirty minutes of overtime on you if he catches you. Built solo in four days for GMTK Game Jam 2026. Free in your browser, Windows download too.

Every model in it was hand-finished in Blender, and AI helped with the code.

What comes after these three? Nothing to announce yet, since my ideas go in the notebook until one of them earns a prototype.

◆ Archive · Game Jam Projects

Where it started.

Before Cosmic Scale there were a handful of game jams, and those little projects taught me the Unity engine, how to actually finish something, and exactly how big a "small" idea can get. They're rough, but they're finished, and they're the reason the next project is the one I always wanted to make.

Fated Hero

An idle clicker I built for a game jam, with a reluctant hero, an absurd quest log, and an upgrade tree that taught me most of what I know about balancing a cost curve. It's tiny, and it shipped.

Tutorial Idle

The very first Unity project I ever got through to release, a clicker I built alongside a tutorial series to prove to myself that I could finish a game and publish it. Cosmic Scale wouldn't exist without this little win.

◆ NOTE
I keep the game-jam projects on this page as honest history. They're the foundation everything since was built on, and I'd rather you see where I started than only where I'm headed.
Studio Approach

Cosmic Scale gets the hours.

OakTree Games is just me, so I want to be honest about where the time goes: Cosmic Scale is the main focus and gets most of my development hours. Infinite Initiative happened when a side idea got too loud to ignore, and five weeks later it was shipped, finished and free. Cc: was four days inside a game jam, start to finish, and then the hours went back to Cosmic Scale.

If you'd like a say in what comes next, the Sprout and Oak patron tiers on the support page get asked about the real design calls before they reach the roadmap.

Project Lifecycle

  1. ◇ Dreaming · scattered notes, mood boards, vibes
  2. ◇ Concept · design doc, prototype, art tests
  3. ▸ Active · the hours go here, and the devlog follows along
  4. ● Released · 1.0 launch on Steam & itch.io
  5. ◆ Maintained · fixes and patches as players find things

Watch this space.

Anything new gets announced on the devlog first, and the roadmap shows what's growing on every project until then.
